Tuesday 20 July  ¦  Dydd Mawrth 20 Gorffenaf   11.00 am   Twr y Felin, St Davids

A talk by composer, writer, lecture and broadcaster

"Elgar in West Wales"

We tend to think of Edward Elgar as the musical poet of the Malvern Hills in land-locked Worcestershire. But he loved the sea and, in 1901, he enjoyed a little-known and unexpected holiday in Cardiganshire. This talk will explore his visits to Wales and their musical results.

“Elgar yng Ngorllewin Cymru”

Tueddwn i feddwl am Edward Elgar fel bardd cerddorol Bryniau Malvern (Moelfryn yn wreiddiol)  yn nhirgaeedig Sir Gaerwrangon. Ond, roedd yn caru’r môr ac, ym 1901 mwynhaodd wyliau  anhysbys ac annisgwyl yng Ngheredigion.  Bydd y ddarlith hon yn ymchwilio i mewn i’w ymweliadau â Chymru a’r canlyniadau cerddorol.
