PALISANDER

Throughout the ages, music and magic have been intrinsically linked. In this programme Palisander explore music’s historic relationship with the wider magical spectrum: including elements of mathematics, philosophy, nature, religion and the occult.  The repertoire varies from traditional folk songs to authentically presented renaissance consort music and exciting new arrangements created by Palisander of music by composers rarely heard on the recorder. The programme is woven together by readings from historical sources. Palisander’s imaginative staging and presentation combined with atmospheric employment of extended techniques creates a magical experience for the audience!

Ar hyd yr amserau, ac yn y bôn, fe gysylltwyd cerdd a hud.  Yn y rhaglen hon, mae Palisander yn ymchwilio i berthynas hanesyddol cerdd â’r sbectrwm hudol ehangach; gan gynnwys elfennau o fathemateg, athroniaeth, natur, crefydd a’r goruwchnaturiol.  Fe glywn ddarnau amrywiol - o ganeuon gwerin traddodiadol i gerddoriaeth consort y dadeni, gyda threfniadau cyffrous newydd wedi’u creu gan Palisander o gerddoriaeth gan gyfansoddwyr na chlywn yn aml ar y recorder. Clymir y rhaglen at ei gilydd gan ddarlleniadau o ffynonellau hanesyddol. Mae llwyfannu a chyflwyniad dychmygus Palisander ynghyd â defnydd atmosfferig o dechnegau ehangach yn creu profiad hudol i’r gynulleidfa!

“One of the most engaging and characterful groups of performers I have ever had the pleasure of working with.”
